What a day! As millions of Americans celebrated on the streets and via social media, the White House was taking it one step further. Hours after the Supreme Court's historic ruling on gay marriage, President Barack Obama's home was illuminated in rainbow colors for the world to see.
Earlier in the day, several brands also took part in the festivities. Companies like Kellogg's, Ben & Jerry's, Cheerios, Target, and Jell-O gave their support. Others also changed their logos to rainbow colors and tweeted #LoveWins.
"No longer may this liberty be denied," Justice Anthony M. Kennedy said of the news. "No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were.
See how other stars are reacting to the White House's colorful tribute:
Olivia Wilde: "Rainbow House."
Dule Hill: "A job well done. America...congrats. LoveWins ,LoveIsEquality ,MarriageEquality ,PeaceBe ,LoveBe ,EqualityBe ,LoveIS."
Sara Bareilles: "Oh what a day. lovewins."
Diane Kruger: "Who would have ever thought..what a day to remember."
Troin Bellisario: "lovewins."
Nikki Reed: "What a beautiful moment in time. What an amazing message we are sending out into the world. I am so happy to be home, and so happy I walked off of that plane and into this country at a time that is worthy of more than just a celebration. Well done America. This isn't about making a statement, and regardless of where you stand, you cannot argue that nothing is more important than the happiness, the joy, and the freedom that is felt by so many right now. These are not topics we should argue over-this is about love, this is about life, and quite frankly this shouldn't even be a discussion. lovewins.
